Kristin Donner

Kristin Donner is an L.A.-based artist and educator with a penchant for adventure. She is currently the Co-creator of an original series in development at Nickelodeon Animation Studios and the artistic director for Project CLAY: Creative Learning Through Archaeology.

Kristin contributed to the anthology Comics and Archaeology. This book adds to the scant academic literature investigating how comics transmit knowledge of the past. It explores this topic from a specifically archaeological perspective, foregrounding the representation and narrative use of material cultures. In her chapter “Mix, Mould, Fire!”, Kristin reveals the artistic choices behind her original comic about pottery craft in the Early Bronze Age and introduces a new audience to the archaeological excavation that inspired it.
